25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Rodriguez made an unannounced Annual Random inspection. LPA met with Site Director Tammy Price and explained purpose of inspection. Present at the care center was the Site Director, 1 teacher, and 12 children. Facility is operating within capacity and in compliance with child to staff ratio. The care center operates Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:15pm.
LPA inspected Room 4 with Site Director. The wall between Room 3 and 4 was removed to combine both rooms together. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or weapons in the center. The center is in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation and is free of any hazards. All furniture is in good repair. Bathrooms, toilets, and sinks are clean and well sanitized. Preschool has age appropriate toys and equipment. A first aid kit and first aid backpack are available in the room. All cleaning products and toxins are inaccessible to children. The center has an outdoor play area. The outdoor area is fenced for supervision. The play structure and outdoor equipment are age appropriate and in good condition. Foam cushioning is used for soft padding underneath the play structure.
All required postings are properly posted by the door. Menu is posted one week in advance. Last emergency drill was conducted in June 2019. Emergency drills are conducted monthly and are properly logged. Sign-in/out sheets are located by the door. The center has a complete record of sign-in/out sheets by authorized pickup person. There are a working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone available. Center only provides snacks and children bring their own lunches. Food preparation area is clean and free of any toxins or contamination. All food is properly stored to avoid contamination. All storage containers for solid waste have a proper lid.
Records of five children reviewed were complete. All children have a record of emergency identification information on file. Records of two staff reviewed were complete. All staff members have a criminal record clearance on file. All staff have a current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate on file.
