25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Cindy Interiano, April Cowan, and Kassandra Medrano, met with Licensee, Sheila Kermani-Cary. Purpose of the inspection was explained and was for an Annual/Random inspection. Licensee owns home, which is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, single story house and lives with Husband and minor child. Licensee has a cat, who is current on their immunization. Present in the facility is Licensee and Helper caring for 11 children (3 infants and 8 PreK). Licensee is within capacity limits of the License. Facility was inspected and Daycare areas are: Class room (towards back of the home), Bathroom #3, Play room, and Side/Back yard. Off limit areas are: main house: Garage, Bedroom #1, #2, #3, Bathroom #1, #2, Kitchen, and Dining room. All off limit areas are properly barricaded. LPAs observed the following: Daycare area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment for the children indoors and outdoors. Home has sufficient lighting and ventilation. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. Fireplace in the ‘Classroom’ is properly barricaded. There are no bodies of water in the home. There are no poisons, detergents, or cleaning products accessible to daycare children. Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. Licensee’s CPR expires in 02/2021 and Helper’s CPR expires in 11/2020. Licensee conducted last emergency drill on 05/21/19 and is properly logged. Licensee provides daily meals and snacks. Discipline policy is redirection, and at times ‘time out’ that does not exceed the one minute per age of the child. All required postings are properly posted. Licensee and Helper have required proof of immunization and Mandated Reporter Training certificate on file. Children’s files were reviewed and are complete and up-to-date.
