25 | On March 7, 2023 at 9:43am. Licensing Program Analyst Olguin-Leon met with Director, Audra Tsivikas for required annual inspection. Purpose of inspection was explained. Present today, Director, 12 staff and 62 preschoolers. Faciltiy is operating within the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio. Facility operates daycare/preschool from Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 5:30PM.
LPA and site director toured the facility for health and safety hazards. Currently there are 5 classrooms; Dragonflies, Monarchs, Grasshoppers, Fireflies and Caterpillars. Facility is clean with proper ventilation. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, furniture and learning materials all in good repair. Cubbies are available for children to store personal items and belongings. There are two children’s restrooms with toilets, urinals and sinks available for washing hands. There is no hot water in children’s sinks. There is a separate bathroom for staff usage on the premises. All trash containers have fitted lids. Facility has sufficient sleeping mate for all children. Parents provide sheets for mats and are sent home for washing. The outdoor play area is fenced for supervision with age-appropriate toys and equipment in good condition. Outdoor flooring consists of artificial grass and poured rubber.
Children bring their own snacks and parents purchase hot lunches. Children have their own labeled water bottles to use inside or outside. There are first aid supplies available in each classroom. Incidental Medical Services were discussed and LPA observed to be properly labeled and stored in locked cabinet. Isolation area for sick children is in the office. All cleaning products, chemicals, and toxins are inaccessible to children. Last emergency drill was conducted on February 14, 2023. School has an electronic sign-in/out system. There is a working fire alarm system, 2 fully charged fire extinguisher, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a working telephone available on site.
LPA reviewed 5 children’s records and 5 staff records. All the children's records were complete. Facility has posted the required forms (i.e., License, Notification of Parent's Rights, Notification of Personal Rights, Car Seat Law (updated), and Emergency Disaster Plan). Staff persons are current with First Aid/CPR certification. Sleeping Logs were observed via Brightwheel app. |
