25 | On June 29, 2023 at approximately 8:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted a case management inspection at Peninsula Jewish Community Center. LPA met with director, Nicole Francis, and associate director, Lauren Ngoi, and explained the purpose of the inspection. Also present during visit included consultant, Kirsten Hove, and operations manager, Renee Keller.
Program is an already licensed combination program for preschool and school age children. Program has also submitted an infant application to department. For the infant program, 2 of the licensed preschool classrooms will be utilized, decreasing the preschool capacity.
Classroom #1 and Classroom #2, previously preschool classrooms, were measured today for the infant classrooms. Classroom #1 (with napping area included) was measured for 651.82 sq ft. Classroom #2 was measured for 591.18 sq ft. The total allowable capacity measured for Classrooms #1 and #2 that will be deducted from preschool capacity measures for 1,243 sq ft. equaling 35 children.
Preschool program capacity will decrease from 300 preschool children to 265 preschool children. LPA reminded associate director that infant children, preschool children and school age children are to be kept separate.
Associate director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Prior to official decrease of preschool capacity, following must be completed:
-Updated fire clearance with updated capacity decrease.
-Submission of capacity decrease application.
-Approval of capacity decrease application.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with associate director, Lauren Ngoi. |
