25 | On March 3, 2020 at 8:50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Rodriguez arrived at home to conduct an unannounced Annual Inspection. LPA met with Licensee Delia Ceja and explained purpose of inspection. Present in the home were the Licensee and 8 children (2 infants and 6 preschool age). A helper and 2 more children (1 infant and 1 preschool age) arrived a short time later. Licensee is operating within capacity requirements on this day. All adults living or working in the home have a criminal record clearance on file. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 7:00pm.
Day Care Areas: Living room, kitchen, dining room, family/play room, half bathroom, and backyard. Off Limit Areas: Bedroom #1, bedroom #2, bedroom #3, bathroom, and garage. At 9:15am, LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensee. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. There are no pools, spas, or bodies of water on the property. Fireplace is properly barricaded. There is a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which are in good condition. All cleaning supplies, poisons, and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to children. There is a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone. Phone number listed for Licensee is current.
At 9:30am, LPA reviewed eight children's records which were complete. All children have a record of emergency identification information on file. Licensee and helper records reviewed were complete. Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR expires June 2020. Licensee and helper are unable to take Mandated Reporter training due to no Spanish translation available at this time. LPA advised for Licensee and helper to write a statement of exemption until a Spanish version is available. Last emergency drill was conducted in October 2019. Emergency drills are conducted at least once every six months and are properly logged.
