On August 8, 2022 at approximately 11:50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted a case management inspection. LPA met with operations manager, Tal Tamir, and explained the purpose of the inspection. Operations manager requested to add classrooms #1 and #2 to licensed program. On date of LPA's visit, school session was on summer break and no children were present.

The facility will continue to operate Monday through Friday from 1:05pm to 6:00pm and Wednesdays 12:40pm to 6:00pm. Newton program currently operates on Brewer Island Elementary School and is licensed to operate out of #12, #29, #31, #41, #42 and gym. School district received fire clearance 08/20/2020. Per operations manager, fire department is not currently conducting annual fire clearance for school district sites due to COVID. Operations manager is aware most updated fire clearance for school district site must be submitted to department.

The facility was inspected, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards. The school age program is exempt from requirements for indoor and outdoor space square footage, fencing, and toilet/sink ratios. No measurements were taken during the inspection.

LPA observed classrooms to be clean, equipped with age appropriate toys, materials and furniture. Both classrooms are appropriately ventilated with proper temperature. All poisons, cleaning solutions and hazardous materials are stored inaccessible to children on facility's high shelves and/or locked behind child safety locked cabinets. Classrooms are equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit and fire extinguisher. Facility is also equipped with fire alarm system and carbon monoxide detectors.

There is a restroom in classroom #1 and restroom in classroom #2 that program has exclusive use over. LPA observed restrooms to be clean and in proper working condition. Program will continue to use school district garbage cans and bins that will be disposed of daily by school district site's janitorial services.

The entire outdoor area of the school is enclosed by a fence that is at least four feet tall. Program has exclusive use of 2 playgrounds (kindergarten playground & school age playground). Play ground and climbing structures are equipped with resilient padding underneath. Operations manager is aware enrolled children using the playgrounds will always be supervised and monitored. LPA did not observe any pools, spas or bodies of water on school district site.

Operations manager was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Program will be approved to use classrooms #1 and #2.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with operations manager, Tal Tamir.
