25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Schnell conducted a case management inspection in response to a request from the Licensee to increase the capacity of the preschool component from 144 to 184 children ages two years to entry into first grade. The preschool is part of a combination center with an infant license and a school age license. The licensee has requested to forfeit the school age license and the preschool will occupy the rooms currently used by the school age program. The school age license will be closed at the time the preschool license capacity is increased to 184 capacity. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety requirements and noted the following measurements today:
The following classrooms, all located on the second floor, will be used for preschool: PK1 (919.1175 sq ft), PK2 (750.3903 sq ft), PS1 (611.4136 sq ft), PS2 (449.755), PS3 (493.9618 sq ft), PS4 (615.0311 sq ft), DP4 (524.56 sq ft), DP 3 (686.1125 sq ft), DP2 (449.755 sq ft), DP1 (561.3825 sq ft), and the Learning Adventure Room (404.17 sq ft).
Total Indoor Square Footage is 6465.6493 which equals 184 capacity. A fire clearance for 184 children was approved 6/7/21. There are 15 toilets (225 capacity) and 33 sinks (495 capacity) available for children's use. The classrooms were observed to be clean, and have sufficient toys, activities and equipment for children. The staff are continuing to implement COVID-19 protocols.
The preschool has an existing waiver to rotate children on the outdoor activity space in groups of children no larger than 80, due to not having the required outdoor space for the current licensed capacity. This waiver will be updated to reflect the new capacity of 184 children.
There were no deficiencies observed during today's inspection.
LPA Schnell will recommend licensure of 184 preschool children ages 2 years to entry into first grade, effective 6/29/21. |
