25 | On December 12, 2023 at approximately 8:15am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo, conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with T1 and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA was granted entry into facility by T1.
At start of LPA's visit, children were being dropped off and arriving to facility. At start of LPA's visit, 9 preschool children and 4 staff were present (2 teachers and 2 volunteers). Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm.
Program operates in 3 classrooms: Peach Room (main classroom), Green Room (activity and nap room) and Blue Room (2-3 year olds). At approximately 8:30am, director, Mary Lee, arrived to facility. Present during LPA's visit included 19 preschool children and 5 staff (director, 2 teachers and 2 volunteers). Facility is operating within capacity limits and ratio.
LPA explained purpose of the inspection and conducted a health and safety inspection, indoors and outdoors, with director. LPA observed classrooms to be clean and properly ventilated. Flooring in classrooms were observed to be clean, free of any debris that may be hazardous. Children's toys, materials and furniture were observed to be age appropriate and in good working condition. Green room includes an elevated "house area". LPA climbed stairs to house area, which was secure. Children's toys were also observed to be appropriately stored and maintained. LPA did not observe any accessible electrical outlets. Storage for children's belongings are located inside the main classroom, labeled with children's individual names.
LPA observed poisons, cleaning solutions and chemicals to be stored in an off limit area or behind locked cabinets. Off limit area is for staff only and made inaccessible to children with a child safety gate. Facility is equipped with multiple fully stocked first aid kits, multiple fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector. LPA tested carbon monoxide detector in Peach room, which was observed to be working.
Program provides a food service that includes breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Children's allergies are properly posted. There is a kitchen area in the Peach room that was made inaccessible to children with a child safety gate. Kitchen area was observed to be clean. LPA did not observe any poisons, cleaning solutions or hazardous materials in kitchen area. Knives and sharp objects are stored in kitchen cabinet, inaccessible to children.
