13 | On November 8, 2022 at approximately 8:15am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, complaint visit to Bright Horizons @ Gilead (Infant) center. LPA met with health and safety director, Roxanne Magadia, and center director, Michelle Lee, and explained the purpose of the visit.
At the start of LPA's visit was drop off time with staff and children arriving to facility. Facility is licensed to operate out of 6 classrooms. Under infant license, there are 2 classrooms: Starfish and Seahorse. At approximately 9:30am, there were 5 children with 3 staff present in Starfish classroom and 7 children with 4 staff in Seahorse classroom.
As part of this investigation, LPA conducted classroom observsations, reviewed program's records and documents, interviewed random selection of staff and interviewed random selection of enrolled children's parents.
LPA conducted unannounced, classroom observations in Seahorse classroom. During classroom observations, LPA observed staff to provide day care children with sufficient care and supervision, observed staff changing multiple enrolled children's diapers and observed staff to maintain children's hygiene needs by washing hands and sanitizing the classroom. LPA did not observe day care children being bitten while in care.
