25 | On July 30, 2024 at approximately 8:50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with licensee, Zhanneta Karapetyan, and explained the purpose of the visit. Present during visit included licensee, teacher assistant (T1), and 8 children (1 infant and 7 preschool age). Licensee is operating within capacity limits and ratio.
Licensee lives in the home with their adult daughter, adult daughter's spouse, and minor grandchild. All adults living and/or working in the home have fingerprint clearance on file.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm. Licensee operates home as a Montessori program. With licensee, LPA inspected day care areas, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards. The DAY CARE AREAS are the living room (main day care area), dining area, hallway bathroom, and backyard. The OFF LIMIT AREAS are the garage, office room (next to garage), kitchen, and all bedrooms on upper level of home. There are stairs in the home that have a child safety gate installed.
Home is in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. There are a variety of Montessori toys and materials that are in good condition. Flooring in home includes carpets that was observed to be clean and free of stains. LPA observed furniture for children's use to be age appropriate and in good condition.
Home is equipped with a fire extinguisher, first aid kit and multiple dual smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. LPA observed cleaning solutions and chemicals to be stored in an off limit area and/or on home's high shelves. LPA observed cabinets and drawers in day care areas to not have any accessible poisons or cleaning solutions.
Restroom for children's use was observed to be in working condition. Restroom includes appropriate toileting equipment. LPA observed a garbage bin with a tight fitting lid. Per licensee, children are brought to and from the restroom and are always supervised.
