On 11/7/2024, at approximately 9:25AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Alvarado conducted an unannounced annual visit at the facility. LPA Alvarado entered through the brown gate with the Sea Side Kids sign above the gate. LPA Alvarado met with facility assistant (S1)Lisa Lewis and disclosed the purpose of the visit for today. Present in the Facility is Two assistants supervising 11 preschool age children. Per (S1), the Licensee had a family emergency and had to leave the facility on 11/6/24.

Daycare Areas: Left side of the house on the main level which is the Lower Level, 1/2 bathroom, kitchen(Not in Use by Children) with desks and chairs, and backyard.
Off Limit Areas: The right side of the house on the main floor, the entire 2nd floor, and the garage.

LPA inspected the home for any health or safety hazards with (S1). LPA observed the home to be in clean and orderly condition. The home is equipped with a fully charged 2: A:10:BC fire extinguisher.Facility had a Duo smoke and Carbon monoxide detector. There is no fireplace present in the Family Child Care Home space. Per (S1) there are no firearms present in the facility. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Licensees and Assistant CPR/First Aid are all updated and current expiring 10/2026.

Facility hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:30AM-1:00PM. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and learning materials to be present. Furniture is age-appropriate and free of rough, loose, or sharp edges. Children do not nap since children get picked up by 1:00PM. Children bring Lunch and snacks from home that are provided by the parents. Children have a designated area where they can store their personal belonging in a cubby in the facility. There are no pools or other bodies of water present in the facility. Licensee was reminded that baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and any other similar items are to not be used for children in care.

LPA reviewed three personnel record, six children’s files, and facility records. Required postings were discussed with Licensee. LPA observed the facility license, Notification of Parents’ Rights (PUB 394), and Earthquake preparedness(LIC 9148) to be posted.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

Technical Violation: Violations of the Health and Safety Code (HSC), regulations (CCR), or interim licensing standards (ILS) that do not pose a health, safety or personal rights risk.

No deficiencies were issued today during LPA's visit.

During the exit interview with (S1) Lisa Lewis, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
