25 | On February 21, 2023 at 1:45 PM.,Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon met with licensee, Beatriz Sandoval, for an annual random inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained. Licensee was the only one present for today's visit due to power outage in home. Licensee operates Mon-Fri. 8:00-4:30 PM.
Licensee and LPA toured home for health and safety hazards. Day Care Areas: Lower floor - Living Room, Dining area, Bathroom, entrance area and Backyard. Off limit areas: Entire second floor, Kitchen, and Garage. Per licensee, there is no firearm or weapon in the house. Stairs and entrance area are barricaded with a child protective gates, Kitchen has a pullout door that is used for off limits. All the cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to the children. Cabinets in bathroom and kitchen have child protective locks in place. The house is in good repair and free of hazards with proper temperature and ventilation. Home has age appropriate toys and activities for children in care.
Home has two carbon monoxide/smoke detector and two fully charged fire extinguisher and working telephone available in the house. Mandated Reporter certificate expires 2/25 and CPR/First Aid is current and expires 11/23. Licensee last emergency drill was 1/6/23. LPA reviewed three children records and all documents were available. Licensee has all of the required documents posted and are visible for the public.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and
volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or
exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00
minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
