25 | On July 20th, 2022 at 11:40am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted an unannounced required annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. LPA met with licensee, Dalila Bernal Castro. Present in the facility are licensee and assistant caring for 4 preschool children. All adults living and working in the home have fingerprint clearance and associated to the facility.
Licensee owns home, which is a 3 bedroom with two bathrooms, single level house. Licensee lives with three other adults. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Daycare areas are: Office, Bathroom #2, Family Room, Deck, both sideyards, front and Backyard. OFF limit areas are: Bedroom #1-#3, Bathroom #1, Living room, dining room, kitchen, driveway, and Garage. All off limit areas are properly barricaded. Office will be used for ill child. All off limit areas are properly barricaded.
LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensee to inspect for health and safety hazards. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. There were a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which were in good condition. Home has a fireplace in the Family room that is properly barricaded. Licensee has no pets. There are no pools, and bodies of water in the premises. All cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals were stored inaccessible to children. Discipline Policy was discussed.
There was a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm, and a working telephone on site. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA reviewed children's' record. LPA also reviewed facility records. Licensees CPR & First Aid Certificate will expire 08/2023. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training is expired. Licensee agrees to renew certificate. Last Emergency drill was conducted over 6 months ago. Emergency drills must be conducted at least once every six months and should be properly logged.
