Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced case management inspection today. LPA met with the Site Director, Veronica Vasquez. The purpose of the inspection was explained to her. There were 49 children with 7 staff present. The case management was related to an unusual incident report that was submitted by the licensee on 6/19/19. The incident related to 2 children had done the inappropriate thing to each other in the classroom on 6/18/19, Based upon the LPA observation and interviews, the incident happened behind a book shelf that was setup in the library area in the classroom when 2 teachers were providing care and supervision to the children there. One of the teachers saw the children were reading books together at the library area when she was standing by the cubbies nearby. The teacher was put children's work in the cubbies areas and turned her head away from the children less a minute. When she turned her head back to them, she discovered one child had done an inappropriate thing to another child in the same area. The teacher stopped the children immediately. Facility reported it to the parents immediately and Child Care Licensing within 24 hours. The incident happened too fast. It's hard for the teacher to avoid it. Facility also reorganized the classroom setup to have a better view for care and supervision.

* No deficiency was not cited during the inspection*
