25 | On June 22, 2023 at approximately 12:15pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with director, Veronica Vasquez, and explained the purpose of the inspection.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm. Present during visit included director, 7 teaching staff, and 45 preschool children. Facility is operating within capacity limits and ratio during LPA's visit. All staff present have fingerprint clearance on file.
Program is licensed in 3 classrooms: Chicks (2-3 year olds), Pandas (3-4 year olds), and Caterpillars (4-5 year olds). With director, LPA inspected the day care areas, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards. Upon LPA's arrival, children in each classroom were going down for nap time.
LPA observed classrooms to be clean and properly ventilated. Each classroom was observed to have a variety of toys and materials that were in good working condition. Furniture was found to be age appropriate. LPA observed cleaning supplies, poisons, and any other chemicals to be stored in classrooms' high shelves, labeled.
Storage for children's belongings are located inside each classroom, labeled with children's individual names. Classrooms are equipped with fully charged fire extinguishers and fire sprinklers. Per director, classrooms have a dual smoke/carbon monoxide detectors implemented in ceiling. LPA observed detectors in classroom's high ceilings.
Each classroom has a bathroom that was observed to be in proper working condition, equipped with appropriate sanitation products. Chicks classroom includes a diaper changing table that is within arm's reach to a sink. Sinks accessible to children do not provide water that is warmer than 120 degrees Fahrenheit. LPA observed garbage bins in classrooms to have tight fitting lids.
