Physical Plant: Facility has problem with rodents

Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Malig and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ly conduct an unannounced 10 days complaint inspection to the facilty and met with Director Jacqueline Galdamez. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection. Present at the facility are 24 infants and 5 staff in the infants classooms. During the walk through of the facility, LPM and LPA observed rodents' droppings throughout the facility. Dropping were seen in the following areas: under the computer stand where parents sign in and out, dropping along the hallway of the facility, dropping right infront of the kitchen entrance. LPM and LPA also observed mice traps in the kitchen. Dropping were also present by the water heater in the kitchen. Facilty have hired a pest control company to help resolve the issue. The pest control will be ongoing until it is resolve.

Based on information obtained, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the allegations of facility has problem with rodents is found to be SUBSTANTIATED.

Type “A” violations were issued today. Licensee is advised to provide a copy of the Evaluation Report and the Type “A” Deficiencies cited, to the parents and guardians of children currently enrolled in care and to parents of newly enrolled children during the next 12 months. A signed and dated LIC 9224 (Deficiency and Acknowledgment of Receipt of Licensing Reports) shall be maintained in all Children's files.

This report will be kept in the Facility File and will be made available for Public Review upon request. Website for Forms and Regulations: www.ccld.ca.gov. This report and rights to comment and appeal have been discussed with Licensee. Notice of Site Visit was observed being posted.
