25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Singh met with director, Kay Erikson, for a random annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, there are seven children in care. Facility is operating with in the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio on this day. Facility operate day care from Monday to Friday between 9 AM to 6 PM.
With director, LPA inspected the day care areas : Room Monkey and Play yard. LPA observed that facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards. Facility has multiple smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and fully charged fire extinguishers on site. Facility has working telephone at the site. Facility has first aid supplies in the cabinet in the classroom. Unused electrical outlets have child protective covers to prevent any injury. All of the cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored in the cabinets and cabinets are locked and inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. Facility has sufficient amount of cribs. Crib area has sufficient space to go around the cribs and assist the child. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. All storage containers for solid waste and in good repair and have proper tight-fitted lid on top. Facility has drinking water available for children. Bottles and other items provided by the parents are labeled and stored appropriately. Food preparation area is free of litter. All of the food is stored adequately to prevent any contamination. Play yard is free of hazards. All of the play structures are steady, in good repair and free of any loose parts. There is sufficient amount of sand under the play structures to prevent any fall injuries.
At 10 AM, LPA reviewed the facility records. LPA observed that facility has sign in / out record with full legal signatures. LPA reviewed all children's and five staff's files. LPA observed facility has record of names, addresses and telephone numbers of each child's authorized representative. Facility has record immunization of each child in care.
