25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Kaur met with director, Sheila Evilla, for a random annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, there are 46 children with 9 teachers, and the director. Facility is operating within the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio on this day. Facility operate day care from Monday to Friday between 07:30 AM to 05:30PM.
With director, LPA inspected the day care classrooms and play yard. Facility is located at elementary school campus. While inspecting physical plant children were napping. There are 3 classrooms, #1 is for 2 yrs old, Classroom # 2 is for 3 yrs old, classroom number # 3 is for 4 yrs old. There are 2 playyards in the facility. There are no pools, spas or other bodies of water at the facility. Facility has multiple smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and fully charged fire extinguishers on site. Facility has working telephone at the site. All of the cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored in high cabinets and are inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. All storage containers for solid waste and in good repair and have proper lid on top. Facility has drinking water available for children. Per director, facility only provides snacks, children bring their own lunch. All of the unused electrical outlets have child protective covers installed. There is drinking water in play yard for children. Play yard is free of hazards. All of the play structures are steady, in good repair and free of any loose parts. There is enough wooden chips under the play structures to prevent any fall injuries. Per director, sand box is being inspected everyday in the morning, before being used by the children. There is sufficient amount of shaded area available for children to use.
