25 | On August 2, 2024, at approximately 1:45 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon, conducted a case management inspection at St. Michael Preschool Center. LPA met with Director, Mary William and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present during today's visit included 50 preschool children with 6 staff.
Facility is a licensed combination program for infant and preschool program. Facility has submitted an application for increase in an infant capacity to department. For the increase infant capacity program, one of the prior licensed preschool classroom (Mickey Mouse classroom) will be utilized. Hence, the preschool capacity will decrease. Program requested to decrease capacity from 113 preschool children to 101 preschool children.
Mickey Mouse Classroom, previously preschool classroom, was measured today for the infant capacity. Mickey Mouse classroom was measured for 458.5 sq ft. he total allowable capacity measured for Mickey Mouse classroom that will be deducted from preschool capacity measures for 458.5 sq ft. equaling 13 children. Per Director request, LPA remeasured Tiny Adventures classroom, which measured 317 sq ft divide by 35 equally 9 children. Classroom was originally measured for 8 preschool children. Director has since removed cubbies from Tiny Adventure classroom to accommodate 9 children. Per LPA measurements, Tiny Adventures classroom can accommodate 9 children adding one more child back into the capacity of preschool program. Little explorers room, Tiny adventures room, and entire upstairs will remain as the preschool program.
Preschool program capacity will decrease from 113 preschool children to 101 preschool children. Director is aware that infant children and preschool children are not to commingle.
