25 | On 11/14/19 at. 1:50, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Cowan met with Site Director Carleigh Beck for an unannounced annual random inspection. Present today is director, 9 teachers, and 18 infants. Staff to child ratio was met on this day. The center operates Monday - Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm. The center has four classrooms: Crickets, Sweet Potato Bugs, Butterflies, and Grasshoppers.
LPA inspected the infant day care area for health and safety hazards today. The center is clean, orderly and in good repair. There are no pools, spas or other similar bodies of water on site. Per Carleigh, there are no firearms or weapons on site. Cleaning supplies and other potentially harmful items are stored inaccessible to the children. All furniture and equipment is clean and in good working condition. The center's furniture and equipment is age appropriate, and there is sufficient quantities of cribs, tables/chairs and changing tables to meet the capacity. Parents take home bedding once a week for cleaning, and staff clean cribs weekly. Bottles and other items provided by the parents are labeled and stored appropriately. Food and formula, lunch, snack, bottles, cups, diapers, wipes, and any diaper creams is provided by parents. Changing tables are within arms reach of a sink. The center has a carbon monoxide detector. Due to infants sleeping, devices were not tested. LPA did not observe baby walkers or any similar items in the center. LPA observed infants were supervised by staff in the classrooms and in the napping area. All solid waste storage containers have secure lids. The outdoor play area designated for the infants and toddlers was clean and in good repair. All toys and equipment are in working condition. Per director, toys are cleaned daily and surfaces, carpet, and door knobs are cleaned nightly. Back yard area is adequately cushioned with poured rubber. |
