25 | On December 11, 2023 at approximately 10:40am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo, conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with director, Raeli Aguirre, and explained the purpose of the inspection.
Program is a combination center with a preschool and infant program. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm. Under the infant license, present during LPA's visit included 7 infants and 2 teaching staff. Program is operating within capacity limits and ratio during LPA's visit.
With director, LPA conducted a health and safety inspection, indoors and outdoors. LPA observed infant classroom to be clean and properly ventilated. Flooring in classroom were observed to be clean, free of any debris that may be hazardous. Children's toys, materials and furniture were observed to be age appropriate and in good working condition. Storage for children's belongings are located inside classroom, in a cabinet, labeled with children's individual names. LPA observed classroom cabinet to include a child safety lock.
LPA observed poisons, cleaning solutions and chemicals to be inaccessible, in classrooms' high shelves and/or behind child safety locked cabinets. LPA observed low classroom cabinest to include child safety locks and to be appropriately labeled with materials.
Classroom is equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit. Facility includes multiple fire extinguishers, fire alarm system and smoke detectors. Per previous annual inspection report, smoke detectors are dual smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. LPA was unable to test carbon monoxide detectors during visit, however, observed detectors in classrooms' high ceilings. LPA advised director to install additional carbon monoxide detector in all areas children nap.
There is a diaper changing table in classroom that is within arm's reach to an adult sink. Bathroom area in infant classroom includes a child safety gate. Garbage bins in both the classroom and used for disposing diapers, were observed to have tight fitting lids. Sinks children have access to do not provide water that is warmer than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
