25 | On 3/16/2023 at 1:10PM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis J. Gomez met with Director, Kimberly Yoguez. Purpose of inspection was explained and was for an Unannounced, Annual Random inspection. Facility is licensed to operate preschool-age program. Present was the directors and five staff supervising 18 children. Children present had been properly signed in. Staff have criminal record clearances on file. Program utilizes two rooms: Multi-purpose Room; Art Room; and one outdoor play area. Days and hours of operation are Monday- Friday, 7:00am- 6:00pm. Program operates year around. LPA inspected facility, indoors and outdoors, with director for health and safety hazards.
At 1:20PM., LPA observed the following: Classrooms were clean, orderly, with age-appropriate materials available for the children. Floors and ground surfaces were free of any obstructions or potential hazards. Labeled cubbies are located in entry way for storage of children's belongings. Accessible furniture, books and playthings inspected were free of sharp corners or splinters. Facility is equipped with child- sized tables and chairs. Children’s bathrooms are maintained clean, with fixtures in operating condition. Staff bathroom is located separate. For napping services, padded mats are stored in facility art room. Mats inspected are cleanable material and free of defects. Per director, children’s sheets are washed weekly by parents. Classrooms have acceptable ventilation and lighting. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other hazardous items have been stored inaccessible to children. Facility has smoke/ carbon monoxide combination detector, on-site telephone service, and fully charged fire extinguishers: 3A:40BC. First aid kit was reviewed and is fully stocked.
At 1:30PM. LPA inspected the on-site kitchen/ food storage area. Food items inspected are correctly stored. Kitchen had sufficient supplies for food storage and meal preparation. Area was clean, without any trash or rubbish.
At 1:45PM., LPA inspected the shared outdoor play area. Outdoor play yard was completely enclosed. Playthings including tricycles inspected were in good repair. Play structure has been anchored, and rubber padding is installed for added safety. Per director, for water services, refillable bottles are provided for children outside. Accessible shading rest area is available.
LPA reminded director to ensure all loose boards and hazardous plants are removed from the outdoor play area. Advisory Note: Technical Assistance (LIC9102TA) was issued. (REFER TO 809-C FOR CONT.) |
