25 | On August 18th, 2022 at 8:25AM, Licensing Program Analyst(LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted a Required Annual unannounced inspection at facility and met with licensee, Maria Sanchez. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present in the home are licensee and assitant caring for 8 children ( 5 infant and 3 preschool age). Facility is out of ratio (Refer to LIC 809D).
Licensee rents home, which is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, single story house and lives with Husband and adult Son. The hours of operation are Monday-Saturday from 7:30am-5:30pm. Daycare areas are: Living Room, Dining area, main Hallway, Family Room (towards the back of the house), Bathroom #2 (next to the Family Room), and portion of the Backyard. Off Limit areas are: Kitchen area, Garage, Laundry room, Master Bedroom #1, Bedroom #2, Bathroom #1, all closets, portion of Backyard, front yard, and Driveway. Off limit areas are properly barricaded.
LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensee to inspect for health and safety hazards. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. There were a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which were in good condition. Home has a heathers that are properly barricaded. There are no pools, and bodies of water in the premises. All cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals were stored inaccessible to children. Discipline Policy was discussed.
There was a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm, and a working telephone on site. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA reviewed eight children's record. LPA also reviewed facility and personnel records. Licensees CPR & First Aid Certificate will expire 05/2023. Licensee's and assistant's mandated reporter training are expired, licensee agrees the training must be renewed. Emergency drills must be conducted at least once every six months and should be properly logged. Last emergency drill was conducted on 01/2022.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. Licensee does offer IMS at this time. Licensee agrees to develop a plan and submit to department. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
