25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Pandora Huffman-Smith and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Alma Malig met with the Regional Manager, Kara Karpel and Facility Director, Holly Kerwin, today for a pre-licensing inspection. The applicant has requested a capacity of 18 infants (ages birth to 24 months). The facility is also requesting to operate as a combination center with the infant program for ages birth to 24 months, a preschool program for 34 children (ages 2 years to entry into first grade) and 12 toddlers (ages 18 to 36 months). The facility was inspected today for health and safety hazards and measured to calculate capacity. The request for the preschool license will be on a separate report.
Indoor: There are two classrooms for the infant program (Orbiter for infants birth to 12 month) and (Rover for infants 12 to 24 months). These classrooms measure 1043 square feet allowing for a capacity of 30 infants. There is an additional activity area (Common space #117) for children's usage that is not included in the determination of capacity. There are two sinks in the in the rover classroom and one sink in the orbiter classroom. There are changing tables within arms reach of a sink in each of the infant classrooms. The classrooms are clean and equipped with a fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, first aid supplies, cubbies for children's personal belongings, toys and other equipment, cots for napping in the rover classroom and a separate napping area with cribs in the orbiter classroom. Sign in and out will be located in the lobby and electronically logged. Isolation for ill children will be in the conference room and the staff bathroom will be used, if needed, until parent arrives for pick up.
This facility will provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed area for storage of medication and equipment/supplies.
