Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Rodriguez and Caliboso conducted a tele-inpsection via Zoom meeting and met with applicant Maricela Barron for a pre-licensing inspection at the facility. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and current shelter in place orders in the State of California and San Mateo County, this pre-licensing inspection was conducted via tele-inspection on July 14, 2020.

Applicant lives in a split level home, four bedrooms and three bathrooms between the first and second floor. Applicant lives in the home with three other adults and one child under the age of 18. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Capacity ratios were discussed with the applicant today. Child care will be provided in areas: the entire lower level which consists of a bathroom, living room, bedroom, small dinning room area and backyard. Off limit areas: the entire upstairs of the home which consists of a kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and dinning room, garage, and a deck located in the backyard. The deck has a gate and is fenced in making it inaccessible to the children. All off limits areas are made inaccessible to children. Applicant Maricela Barron gave LPA Rodriguez and Caliboso a virtual tour of her home for health and safety hazards. During the virtual inspection LPA observed all toxic or dangerous materials are stored in the garage area or in cabinets which have been made inaccessible to the children. There is no fire place located in the daycare area. Facility has a working telephone, fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were checked recently when the San Bruno Fire Department conducted their inspection for capacity increase. Applicant has first aid supplies available. There are a variety of age appropriate toys available. Applicant states she will provide all meals to the children. As per the applicant, there are no firearms or weapons in the home. Per applicant, there are no pets in the house. Discipline policy will be to talk to the child and use positive reinforcement and redirection. Applicant was informed that time outs cannot be any longer than one minute per age of the child and cannot exceed five minutes.
