32 | Last emergency drill was conducted in June 2022. Next emergency drill will be conducted before the end of the year. Emergency drills are conducted at least once every six months and are properly logged. Center has an electronic sign-in/out system but also use a paper sign-in/out sheets in case the electronic system goes down. The center has a complete record of sign-in/out sheets by authorized pickup person. There is a working fire alarm and sprinkler system throughout the center. A smoke and carbon monoxide detector and a fully charged fire extinguisher is in each classroom and a working telephone is available on-site.
Ten children records reviewed were complete. All children have a record of emergency identification information on file. Four staff records reviewed were complete. All staff have a criminal record clearance on file. Appointed staff have a current pediatric first aid/CPR certificate on file.
LPA inspected center for increase in capacity to 40 children. Per previous measurements made by LPA Haydee Caliboso, classroom #1 measures at 380 sq ft divided by 35 sq ft per child which equals a maximum number of 10 children and classroom #2 measures at 1,077 sq ft divided by 35 sq ft which equals a maximum number of 30 children.
LPA will grant the increase of capacity to 40 children (10 toddlers and 30 preschool aged), effective as of today, December 12, 2022. Waiver currently in place for rotational use of outdoor space will be updated to reflect the new capacity.
No deficiencies cited today under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12.
Licensee was reminded about Mandated Reporter training available on CCLD website. Training must be completed every 2 years by all staff. Training can be taken online at www.mandatedreporterca.com.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226.
