25 | On May 17th, 2023, at 10:34AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with licensee Dawn Chapman and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Licensee provided LPA a tour of the home inside and out. At the time of the inspection there eight (8) children, licensee and assistant (fingerprint cleared) present.
This is a one-story 3 (three) bedroom and three (3) bathroom home. Accessible to children is: playroom, dining room, kitchen, living room, one (1) bathroom, nap room and outdoor play area. LPA observed documents posted in a prominent location. LPA observed the facility to be clean and orderly. At the time of the inspection, kitchen did not pose a hazard to children and knives were observed to be rendered inaccessible. Children utilize one (1) bathroom and at the time of the inspection, bathroom did not contain cleaning supplies, combustibles or poisons that would pose a hazard to children. In the nap room, LPA observed two (2) cribs for children in care. Accessible living room has one (1) fireplace rendered inaccessible by a screen. Outdoor play yard contains age-appropriate toys, equipment, and at the time of the inspection, sandbox was free of debris or hazards. Swimming pool and pond are present, made inaccessible by gate over five feet high.
LPA observed a 2A10BC fire extinguisher with service date of August 23, 2022 mounted on the wall in the kitchen readily accessible. Licensee advised to ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced or a new one in purchased every year. The last emergency drill was conducted on January 22nd, 2023. Individual carbon monoxide and smoke alarms were tested at 10:52AM and at the time of the inspection, smoke alarm was functioning. No incidental medical services are being provided at this time, and licensee stated no firearms or ammunition are present on property.
LPA observed the facility roster was current. A sampling of children records was reviewed, LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First-Aid certificate is current and valid until 8/20/2024.
