On September 5, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted a Required Annual inspection at the above-mentioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Site Supervisor Martha Haro and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA and Site Supervisor toured the interior and exterior of the facility. There were 7 children in care and 1 qualified teacher providing care at the time of the inspection.

Licensing required notices were posted prominently in the staff lounge that is also used to host parent meetings. The CCC consists of 2 classrooms, of which only 1 is was in use at the time of the inspection. The two classrooms are divided by a child proof gate between classroom's in the doorway. There is one bathroom with sufficient toilets and sinks to accommodate the children in care. The classrooms have age appropriate toys and furniture available to the children. Cleaning compounds are stored in the kitchen and are made inaccessible by lock and door handle beyond the reach of children. The facility uses daily sign in sheets that are inside the classroom.

The outdoor playground is completely enclosed by a fence. The play ground has ample amount of shade available and age appropriate toys and equipment. LPA did not observed any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children in the outdoor area. Gates on both sides of the outdoor area remain locked at all times.
LPA observed and reviewed posted menu. The CCC provides breakfast, lunch and a snack. The last emergency drill was conducted 8/31/2023.

A sampling of children's files were reviewed and were found current and complete. A sampling of staff record was reviewed and were found to be current and complete as well. At least one staff has current First Aid/CPR certificate that expires on 6/2025.

All staff have current Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207 compliant) which expire on various dates. LPA reminded Site Supervisor that all staff must have current Mandated Reporter Training and that it must be renewed every 2 years.

Site Supervisor Martha Haro was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Site Supervisor was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. No deficiencies were given.
