On October 10, 2022, at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced 1 Year Required Inspection and met with the Child Care Center Director (CCC) Ms. Barbara Wilson and discussed the purpose of the inspection. Prior to inspection LPA asked screening questions related to COVID -19 and Directo's responses indicate there are no COVID-19 exposure on site. The CCC operates Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

LPA and director toured the CCC areas. Classroom # 203 and # 204 are currently being utilized by pre school children. There were 15 day care children and 2 teachers present. Licensing required forms are posted in the wall along the hallway going to the classrooms. Preschool children bring their own lunch and snack since COVID -19 pandemic started. Classrooms are found to be clean and in order. Age appropriate toys books and equipment were observed. The outdoor playground is enclosed with the wire fences. It has age appropriate toys and equipment. The playground has an ample amount of sand cushioning. The CCC has drinking water available for children inside and out, children bring refillable water bottles and CCC refills from the water jug. Director stated there are no guns or ammunition on site.

Child Care Center uses individual sign-in/out for children. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. Children's files are complete and have Emergency and Identification Card on file. Teachers qualifications were verified. Director has a current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 8/19/2024. LPA verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization record and tuberculosis requirements. The Child Care Center is following current Covid-19 guidelines.

There were no deficiencies cited during today's inspection.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA reminded the Director of the compliance with the requirement for lead testing of drinking water in child care centers as mandated in AB 2370. Director stated that water lead test was performed and Center is waiting for its result.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
