1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On October 10, 2022 @ 9:45 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rona Chavez conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with met with Director Judy Johnston and Assistant Director Kate Bridgeford. Directors provided a tour of the inside and outside of the facility. There were 26 children in care, two (2) staff and 9 parent volunteers. The preschool operates Monday – Friday, 8:45 AM - 11::55 PM and extended care is provided from 11:55 AM - 3:30 PM. Center has a open classroom with stations throughout the room. LPA observed classrooms to be clean with age appropriate toys and furniture for the children in care. LPA observed a working carbon monoxide/smoke detector and there were no toxins/hazards accessible to the children. All required postings were prominently placed at the entrance of the center and LPA observed a snack menu posted. Center and parents provide snacks for the children. If the child is staying for extended care they bring lunch from home. LPA observed refrigerator with lunches labeled with the children's names. Facility provides children that are staying full day a sleeping cot during quiet time if they choose to sleep. The outdoor playground has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPAs observed the playground has age appropriate toys and structures available for children to use. The playground has ample amount of shade available. The facility has water available for children inside and out. There is chicken coop with 2 chickens and no other animals at this time. Cont on 809-C

Facility uses handwritten sign in and out sheets. Children's roster was reviewed and found to be current. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed and found complete. LPA reviewed current CPR/First Aid for at least one staff present, with an expiration date of 4/2023. Mandated reporter certificates are on file with an expiration date of 8/27/2023. Fire drill log reviewed and last drill conducted was on 5/23/2022.

LPA was advised that the center is not currently providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS)
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

There were no deficiencies cited during todays inspection.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
