25 | (1)Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melissa Stewart, conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection and was accompanied on a tour of the facility by a teacher who has been designated facility responsibility in the absence of the Director. At the time of inspection, there were 3 toddlers supervised by 3 staff in the Young Toddler Room and 5 children in the Early Years Room supervised by 2 staff. The Pre-K and preschool are divided into two separate indoor classrooms. There were 10 Pre-K and preschool children supervised by 3 staff. The center operates, Monday - Friday, 7am - 5:30pm. All required forms, including monthly menu, are posted at the main entrance of the center. The center utilizes a computerized sign in and sign out system. The number of children signed in by parents corresponded with the number of children present. All classrooms were observed to be clean, organized and free of toxins. Each classroom is equipped with age appropriate toy, books, puzzles, blocks, arts and crafts and dramatic play materials. The toileting areas used by children were observed to be clean.
The outdoor activity areas have age appropriate bikes, climbing equipment with cushioning to absorb a fall, toys, tables and shaded areas. Drinking water is available outside via pitchers and disposable cups. Director arrived at approximately 9:05am. The center conducts and documents emergency drills. The most recent drill was held on 10/1/19. The center has first aid kits in each room and outdoors. There is a functioning carbon monoxide detector in the toddler room and the preschool room. Director reported that she changed the batteries and tested the detectors on 4/25/19. Director reported that there are no firearms, ammunition or bodies of water on the premises. Continued on 809-C |
