25 | On June 13th, 2023 at 12:00 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Dixie Wright and Francis Vasquez conducted an Annual/Required inspection. LPAs met with Director Cortney Dasman and advised her of the purpose of the inspection. Director provided a facility tour, both inside and outside.
The program had 65 total children present at time of inspection. There is a toddler class with ten children and two teachers, an Early Years class with 14 children and two staff, a Kindergarten readiness class with 10 children and one teacher, and 31 pre-school age children with four teachers/staff present. Staff to child ratio was within guidelines. The facility operates Mon-Fri 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
The facility has primary main rooms for the toddlers, early years, kindergarten readiness and pre-school, all separate. The facility also has three outdoor play areas, all separated. LPA observed required postings on the wall near the entrance, prominently in view. Facility has enough restrooms for children in care. Children bring their own lunch, the facility provides two snacks a day. The menu for snacks is posted on their website and is up to date. There are cubbies in each classroom for the children's belongings. Children bring their own water cups and the facility also provides water. Age appropriate toys, books, supplies for activities, furniture and playground equipment were observed. There is ample shade and space for the children. There is construction going on in the playground for the pre-school aged children; all construction materials were behind a closed, tied off fence and inaccessible to children. LPAs did not observe any hazards on the playground. Carbon monoxide detector was tested and functioning at 12:00 PM. Last disaster drill was done on 12/22/2022. The facility was tested for lead contaminants and report shows the facility water is well below the action level of lead and water can be continued to be used. All staff has current CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter Trainings.
