The outdoor playground area is enclosed by chain linked fencing and the entry/exit gates are secured. Furnishings, toys and equipment in the outdoor area is age appropriate. LPA observed two sheds in the outdoor play area which contain CCC supplies and equipment. The play structures in the outdoor play area have adequate cushioning materials (i.e wood chips) to absorb falls. Shade is provided by trees and building overhangs. Play structures are absent of sharp, pointed or loose parts. Program Coordinator is reminded to replace play equipment once the play equipment begins to degraded. No bodies of water were observed on site.
Staff and children records were reviewed. The children’s records were complete and found to contain emergency contact information as well as immunization records. Staff records were reviewed and contained current pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications (EMSA) along with Mandated Reporter certifications. Program Coordinator was reminded to keep training certifications current and updated prior to expirations. Program Coordinator notes no firearm or ammunition is stored on site. LPA notes the last fire/disaster drill in May of 2022 .
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Facility representative were reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
