25 | On April 18th 2023, at 10:43AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection. LPA met with facility director Erin Cavazos and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Director provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. The program operates from 8:00AM-11:00AM for morning session and 12:00PM – 3:00PM for afternoon session, Monday through Friday. At the time of the inspection there were nine (9) children, and two (2) staff present.
The facility currently utilizes two (2) classrooms for care and supervision, classroom #20 and classroom #21. LPA observed required licensing documents mounted on the wall at the entrance of the facility and the menu for the month of April. Facility uses written logs for the purposes of signing children in and out. Both classrooms have age-appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care and offer ample ventilation. LPA observed cleaning compounds, disinfectants, sharps, poisons, toxins, and tools to be inaccessible to children and / or locked in a cabinet. Children have access to hand washing sinks, water filtration, and bring their personal water bottles from home. LPA observed three (3) restrooms for use which were clean and functioning at the time of the inspection. Each classroom maintains regulation fire extinguisher with last service date of 8/2/2022. LPA observed first aid kits available for use in classrooms. The last emergency drill was conducted on 12/15/2022. At this time, no incidental medical services are being provided. Director stated no firearms or ammunition are present on the property.
Facility provides breakfast to morning session children and lunch to afternoon session. LPA toured the kitchen and found it to be clean, functioning, and free of rodents.
The outdoor area has ample amount of space for children to play and enclosed by perimeter gated fencing. LPA observed age-appropriate play equipment, soft cushioning, and shaded areas. Sand box is free, clear of debris and cover present for use. Drinking water and hand washing stations are available and no bodies of water are present.
