On March 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Francisco Pedroza and Rosie Breault conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPAs met with facility Site Supervisor Dianne Reasner and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Site Supervisor provided LPAs a tour of the facility inside and out. There were 14 children in care and three (3) staff at the time of the inspection.

LPAs observed required licensing documents mounted on the wall at the entrance of the facility. LPAs observed a posted menu for the month of March. Facility provides the children breakfast, lunch, and one afternoon snack. The center has one (1) classroom available for use. LPAs observed the facility has enough restrooms available for the children. LPAs did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children in care. Children have access to age appropriate toys and furniture. LPAs observed where the facility stores children medications. The medications were inaccessible to children. The outdoor playground has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPAs observed the playground has age appropriate toys and structures available for children to use. The playground has ample amount of shade available. The facility has water available for children inside and out. Children are provided a disposable cup for water.

A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. LPAs observed children's files to be complete and current. Currently the facility does have children that require Incident Medical services (IMS). LPAs observed staff files to be complete and current. LPAs verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Teachers meet the required qualifications. LPA spoke with Site Supervisor about new Covid-19 guidelines. Facility is currently following Covid-19 guidelines. Facility Site Supervisor advised that they will continue to mandate staff and children to wear masks per Headstart Program protocols.

No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Site Supervisor and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
