25 | On 2/19/20 at 1:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melissa Stewart, conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection and met with Site Supervisor, Nohemy Estrada. The purpose of the inspection was explained and the center was toured inside and outside. The preschool operates two sessions: 8am-11:30am and 1pm-4:30pm, Tuesday - Friday. All required forms, including monthly menu, are posted in a prominent location. LPA counted 15 children seated for lunch at two tables with one teacher at each table. The number of children signed in by parents corresponded with the number of children present. The classroom was clean, organized and free of toxins. LPA observed indoor activity centers containing books, puzzles, manipulatives, blocks, arts and crafts and dramatic play materials. The center conducts monthly emergency and disaster drills. An earthquake drill and fire drill were held on 2/11/20.
The center has multiple first aid kits and a functioning carbon monoxide detector. Site Supervisor reported that there are no firearms, ammunition or bodies of water at the center. There is a pool for residents of the housing complex which is appropriately fenced and inaccessible to children in care. The restrooms used by children were observed to be clean. The outdoor activity area contains age appropriate activity centers which included: art, blocks, reading area, grass, shade, bike path, and dramatic play area. Drinking water is available inside via drinking fountain and outside via water dispenser and disposable cups.
