25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martina Jimenez conducted an unannounced 3 Year Required Inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor, Maria Reyes. The purpose of the inspection was discussed and together a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. LPA observed Staff #1 supervising 16 children who were all taking a nap in the preschool room. LPA observed staff #4 and #5 supervising a total of 9 children who were napping the toddler room #1 and #2. The rooms #1 and #2 is one room divided in half. LPA toured both classrooms and observed both rooms to be clean and free of toxins.
Center operates seasonal from Aril thru November from 06:00 AM to 04:00 PM. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and all hazardous items are stored in locked cabinets that are inaccessible to children inside the kitchen/room. The Site Supervisor stated the center has an IMS Plan in place and stores the medication in a locked box inside a locked cabinet that's located above the sink in each classroom. Furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition for both classrooms. Floors are clean and safe and all trash containers have tight fitting covers. The 5 Toilets and 4 hand washing sinks are safe and in sanitary operating condition. Kitchen, food- preparation and food storage area was observed by LPA to be safe, clean and free of hazards. The Bill center in Nipomo is temporarily providing lunch, breakfast and snacks are prepared here in the center. Menus are posted in the entry of the classroom. Blankets and sheets are washed by staff every Monday. The classroom and the toys are sanitized daily. Drinking water is readily available both indoor and outdoor. Playground equipment observed to be clean, safe and free of hazards.
Staff records reviewed contain appropriate documentation of education credits. All staff have a criminal record clearance. Current CPR and First Aid cards were verified for staff present. Children's records reviewed contain all required documents. Sign in/out sheets were complete with signature of person responsible for each child. Maria Reyes stated that there are no guns or ammunition in the center and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during the inspection. The Site Supervisor stated the Carbon Monoxide was tested and found in working condition on March 20, 2019.
