25 | On October 21st, 2022 at 11:08AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with facility director Susy Del Toro and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Director Provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. The center operates from 8:00AM – 3:30PM Monday through Thursday, and 8:00AM – 3:00PM on Friday. There were fourteen (14) children in care at the time of the inspection, and three (3) teachers.
LPA observed required licensing documents mounted on the wall at the entrance of the facility and the menu for the month of October 2022. Facility uses Brightwheel electronic app for sign in and out purposes. Last fire/disaster drill was conducted on Sept. 30th 2022 at 10:00AM. LPA observed the facility has a sufficient number of restrooms and sinks available for the children, which are functioning and clean. Each of the classrooms have age appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care and offers ample ventilation. LPA observed first aid kits available for use in classrooms. Children use their own water bottles which are labeled with their names. LPA observed all cleaning compounds, disinfectants, sharps, and tools to be inaccessible to children and / or locked in a cabinet. Kitchen is clean, free of rodents, and refrigerator is functioning properly.
The outdoor area has an ample amount of space for children to play with appropriate toys with a shaded area, and disinfectant solution inaccessible to children. No bodies of water are present.
Incident Medical Services are being provides. LPA observed one locked medical box, inaccessible to children, containing child’s medication with unaltered label, and not expired. Required medication paperwork present and current.
A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. LPA observed children's files to be complete and current. LPA observed staff files to be complete and current. LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Teachers meet the required qualifications. Teachers present have current Pediatric CPR/First-Aid certificates that are valid until 4/16/2024. Teachers present have current Mandated Reporter certificates that are valid until 10/29/2024. Facility is currently following Covid-19 guidelines.
