25 | On 03/11/20, at 10:50 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Annual inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Michelle Franco, Instructor of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Instructor, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. Director Holly Edds arrived at the facility near the conclusion of the inspection. The CCC operates from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The CCC uses a single module classroom for care. At the time of the inspection 20 children are present.
The classroom of the CCC are organized. LPA observed furnishing, games and toy in the CCC which are age appropriate. The CCC also had storage (cubbies) for each child in care. The CCC's bathrooms are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The CCC's kitchen area was observed to be clean and free of litter. LPA observed sharps in a plastic container on an elevated shelf in the kitchen cabinet. LPA observed food items in the refrigerator which are within expirations. Medications are stored in a locked box in a desk drawer in the CCC, while cleaning compounds are stored on an elevated shelf in the staff restroom which is inaccessible to children. LPA observed a carbon monoxide detector in the CCC which was tested at 10:50 Am and found to be operable.
The CCC provides snacks. No lunches are provided given the duration of the CCC's programming LPA reviewed a posted menu as well as required licensing forms and documents affixed to a wall near the entry of the CCC. LPA reviewed Sign In/Out forms for children which contained the full names of their parent/guardian.
The CCC's outdoor playground area is enclosed by wrought iron fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secured. LPA observed age appropriate toys and play equipment in the play area. The toys and play equipment are free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. The play structures in area have adequate cushioning material (i.e. rubber composite) to absorb falls. Shade is provided by trees and a shade structure in the area. No bodies of water are observed on site. There is available drinking water for children in the classroom, via
