On February 23, 2022, at 10:31 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Annual Required inspection and met with Site Supervisor, Michelle Valencia. Prior to inspection, LPA asked pre screening questions related to COVID-19, Site Supervisor responses indicate there are no COVID-19 exposures on site. The Center operates in the morning session from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and in the afternoon session from Monday to Friday, 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. There were 21 day care children and 4 staff present during the inspection in morning and afternoon sessions.

Licensing required notices were posted prominently on the wall by the entrance door. The Center uses one classroom, there are two restrooms with 2 toilets and 4 sinks readily accessible for children in care. The classroom has age appropriate games, activities, and furniture. The Center's lunch and snack are provided the Orcutt Union School District. The drinking water is provided by a water pitcher using disposable paper cups inside and outside the classroom. The outdoor playground has age appropriate toys and equipment. There is an adequate amount of cushioning material rubber mat under the play equipment.

Center uses written sign-in/out logs at the entrance of the facility and the electronic sign in/sign out using Learning Gene platform application. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. Teachers present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 12/1/2023. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 5/7/2022. LPAs verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis Requirements. Facility is following current Covid-19 guidelines.

No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection.

The Center is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS). IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
