On January 30, 2023 at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced 1 Year Required inspection and met with Site Supervisor, Michelle Valencia. The Child Care Center operates in two sessions, morning and afternoon from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. There were 17 day care children and 4 staff present during the inspection in the morning session which ended at 11:30 AM. There were 17 children came in for afternoon session.

LPA in the the company of Site Supervisor toured the CCC inside and outside. LPA observed licensing required forms are posted by the door. Menu is posted in the refrigerator. LPA observed age appropriate toys, books and equipment. Bathroom was observed to be clean and free of toxin. Cleaning materials and hazardous items are stored inaccessible to children in care. CCC provides snacks. CCC provides drinking water with the use of filter pitcher and water cups for outdoor and water fountain inside the classroom. The outdoor playground is completely fenced and has age appropriate toys and equipment. There is an adequate amount of rubber mat cushioning material under the play equipment.

As required by Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, CCC completed the drinking water sampling on 11/29/2022. The water lead content in the faucets tested are below 5-ppb action level and may continue to be used as certified by the certified inspector.

CCC uses electronic sign in and sign out through Learning Gene platform application. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. Teachers present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 12/1/2023. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 7/18/2024 LPA verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis Requirements.

No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection. Technical Assistance was provided and issued.

The Center is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS). IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal Rights was issued and discussed.
