25 | On May 1st, 2023, at 2:14PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with preschool director Maria Gomes and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Director provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. There were thirteen (13) children in care at the time of the inspection, and two (2) teachers, not including director. Preschool is located on the grounds of Notre Dame Elementary School and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:45AM-3:30PM. LPA observed required licensing documents mounted on the wall at the entrance of the preschool. Facility uses written logs for sign in and out purposes. The facility is currently utilizing two (2) classrooms for care and supervision. Both classrooms have age-appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care and offer ample ventilation. Children nap on mats with personal bedding stored separately. LPA observed all cleaning compounds, disinfectants, sharps, and tools to be inaccessible to children locked in a cabinet and first aid kits available. Preschool does not offer food services; children bring their own snacks and water bottles. LPA observed the facility has a sufficient number of clean and functioning restrooms and sinks available for the children. Fire extinguisher was serviced on 7/24/2022 and last emergency drill was conducted on January 19th, 2022. Per director, no firearms or ammunition are present on property.
The outdoor area has an ample amount of space for children to play with appropriate toys, structures, soft padding and shade. No bodies of water are present.
Incident Medical Services are currently not being provided at this time.
A sampling of children records were reviewed. LPA observed children's files to be complete and current. Due to extraordinary circumstances, staff files were unable to be reviewed at this time.
