(2) Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Elvin Baddley and Melissa Stewart conduct an unannounced Annual/Random inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPAs met with Claudia Marquez, Director of the CCC and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. LPAs, in the company of the Director toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 am to 5:15 pm, Monday - Friday. The CCC uses 2 classrooms ("full time classroom" and "part time classroom") for care and had a population of 23 children in care at the time of the inspection.

The classrooms of the CCC were clean and organized. The classrooms had age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children. Each classroom had operable carbon monoxide detectors. The attached bathrooms were in safe and sanitary operating condition. Each bathroom had two sinks and two toilets. Food and beverages are stored appropriately in an adjacent kitchen . LPAs did not observed and disinfectants or cleaning solutions accessible to children. The CCC had a lock storage box for medications in an elevated cabinet outside the reach of children.

The CCC provides meals for the children and the LPAs observed posted menus in each classroom. Additionally, each classroom had licensing required notices posted predominately as well as Sign In/Out form which were completed appropriately.

The CCC's outdoor playground areas, which is comprised of an artificial lawn, sand play area and concrete sidewalks, is enclosed by a fence made of bamboo. The fence’s entry/exit gates were secured. The LPAs observed age appropriate toys/play equipment in the play area which was in suitable condition and free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. The play structures in the playground areas have adequate cushioning materials (i.e. sand, padded artificial grass) to absorb falls and a shaded covering in the corner. No bodies of water were observed on site. There is available drinking water for children both inside the classroom and outside in the play area.
