On May 21, 2021 at 3:00pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christian Patterson conducted a Case Management inspection for the purpose of completing an Increase of Capacity inspection. Due to the COVID - 19 and Department of Public Health guidelines of social distancing, a tele-video inspection was conducted via Zoom. LPA met with Licensee Teresa Arellanes and explained the purpose of the visit. LPA asked Licensee Arellanes Pre-Screening questions related to COVID-19. Licensee's responses to the Pre-screening questions suggest no COVID-19 exposure on site. A fire clearance was granted on 5/14/21 for 14 children.

A virtual tour of the home was made both inside and outside. There were no children in care at the time of the inspection. The Licensee utilizes the living room, dining room, one-bedroom, front patio and bathroom for the day care. One bedroom and kitchen are off-limits with safety gate/locks. There are age appropriate toys and day-care equipment in the home. The enclosed front patio has age appropriate toys and day-care equipment. LPA advised Licensee must provide visual supervision while the children are playing both inside the home and outside on the patio.

LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. A regulation 2A10BC fire extinguisher serviced on 04/21/21 was observed. Licensee is reminded to service or purchase the fire extinguisher yearly. LPA observed functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the home. Licensee stated that there are no firearms or ammunition in the facility. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the property. Licensee’s First Aid/CPR certificate is valid until 05/23. Licensee’s AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate expires 09/27/22.

Licensee is reminded that it is their responsibility to know the regulations for Family Child Care Home which can be accessed on-line at www.ccld.ca.gov.

LPA reviewed COVID-19 guidelines/resources with applicant (RAST Technical Assistance Visit completed). LPA also reminded applicant to continue to monitor the CCLD website for COVID-19 updates and resources. Exit interview was conducted with Licensee Arellanes. This report along with a copy of the Notice of Site Visit (LIC9213) will be sent to Licensee via email with a read receipt or confirmation of receipt of e-mail which will act as the Licensees' signature.
