25 | (1) Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ruth Gull and Betzayra Cervantes made an unannounced RANDOM ANNUAL inspection to the home. Met with Antonia Murillo, Licensee and explained the purpose of the inspection. There were 4 children present who were napping. A tour of the home was made both inside and outside. The Licensee uses the playroom and a hall bathroom for the day care and the playroom has a separate entrance next to the front door. The regulation fire extinguisher was serviced on 04/09/19. Licensee is reminded to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher every year. The combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector was observed to be functioning. Licensee uses the backyard for the day care and it is completely fenced. LPAs observed that there are age appropriate toys and equipment both inside and outside. LPAs reviewed a sampling of children's records. Licensee's First Aid/CPR certificates are valid until 04/25/21. Licensee states that she does not have any guns/weapons on the property. Licensee has completed the required Mandated Reporter training. LPAs informed Licensee that it would be available in Spanish in the near future.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm
Licensee is reminded that she is responsible for knowing the regulations for a Family Child Care Home and that Licensing information can be accessed online at www.ccld.ca.gov. LPA reviewed and provided Licensee with Guide to Infant Safe Sleep (Spanish version) and Effects of Lead Exposure pamphlet (Spanish version - to be provided to all current and future parents).
The inspection was translated in Spanish by LPA Cervantes.
No deficiencies were cited in areas inspected today. The LIC 9213 (Notice of Site visit) was posted. |
