25 | On 7/14/22, at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced One Year Required inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Marisol Cortez, Site Supervisor of the CCC, and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Site Supervisor toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC consist of a single classroom and an outdoor play area on the grounds the Lompoc Community Center. The CCC's hours of operation are from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. During the inspection, LPA observed 11 children in care, along with three teachers providing supervision. All children were awake and involved in various activities at the CCC.
The classroom used for child care is clean and organized. The CCC has storage space ("cubbies") for all children in care near the CCC's door entry and age appropriate furnishings, toys and equipment throughout. The CCC has an operable refrigerator in the kitchen area which is inaccessible to children in care. The refrigerator contains food items consumed by the CCC's children which are labeled and dated. The CCC provides snacks and lunches to children in care. LPA notes filtered drinking water is available for children inside and outside. Children also drink from water fountains in the interior of the CCC. LPA informed Site Supervisor of requirement to have CCC's water sources lead tested. LPA observed menus posted at the CCC along with required notices and documents. The facility uses an electronic application to sign children in and out of the CCC. LPA reviewed CCC Sign In/Out information and notes all information reviewed was found to be completed appropriately, having the authorized parent's electronic signature as well as entry and exit times.
LPA observed a carbon monoxide detector on site which was tested at 12:00 PM and found to be operable. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are stored in CCC's supply cabinet which is inaccessible to children in care. Sharps and medications at the CCC are out of the reach of children in care and inaccessible.
The restroom of the CCC is observed to be clean and void of toxins. Waste receptacles at the CCC are
