25 | (3) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ruth Gull made an unannounced RANDOM ANNUAL inspection to the center. Met with Cheri Diaz, Director and explained the purpose of the visit. This is a combination Infant and Preschool center. A tour of the Preschool program was made both inside and outside. The classrooms have age appropriate toys/furnishings. The posted menu was reviewed. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. The outdoor areas have shade and age appropriate toys/equipment. Drinking water is available both inside and outside. Director and at least 2 Teachers present have current Pediatric 1st Aid/CPR certificates (approved by EMSA) valid until 10/03/2020. LPA reviewed a sampling of children records, parent sign in/out sheets (the Center uses electronic sign in/out) and staff records. LPA reviewed SB 792 (Child Care Employee and Volunteer Immunization and Tuberculosis Requirements) and Mandated Reporter training certificates.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded that the Child Care Center regulations could be accessed online at www.ccld.ca.gov. LPA reviewed and provided Director with Effects of Lead Exposure pamphlet (to be provided to all current and future parents).
There were no deficiencies cited in the areas inspected.
