32 | 6/3/2021, at 10:47AM. Santa Barbara Police Officers responded to a found child call and arrived at 11:00AM at the intersection of East Pedregosa Street and Garden Street, Santa Barbara, CA. The Police Officers met with 3 witnesses who were with child #1. Witness #1 was the first to observe child #1 alone without supervision. The other two witness #2 and #3, were passersby, who also observed child #1 with witness #1. The witnesses discussed the incident and had knocked on doors of homes to find where the child belonged, including the 1825 Pedregosa home where no one answered. One of the passersby contacted the local Police Department.
The Police Officers went to the licensed day care home to further investigate the incident. While at the licensed day care home, the Police Officers observed three other infants in her backyard unsupervised, an unlocked hot tub cover, can of paint thinner on a picnic table near where the children were sitting on the grass, and extension cords strewn about the yard.
According to CCR, Title 22, Division 12, the following Type A deficiencies are cited in regard to Revocation or Suspension of a License or Registration: Conduct Inimical, and Operation of a FCCH. Appeal Rights were reviewed.
Licensee shall post and provide copies of the licensing report to parent/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months. Licensee has been provided a copy of LIC 9058 Applicant/Licensee Appeal Rights and a copy of LIC 9224 Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports.
LPAs observed the "Notice of Site Visit" posted.
