On June 2, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced Required- 1 Year and an increase of capacity inspection (licensee is requesting a capacity of 57). LPA met with director Devon Robles and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Director provided LPA with a tour of the facility inside and outside. At the time of the inspection there were 35 children and 8 adults.

The center operates Mon-Fri 7:45 am- 5:15 pm. Facility does not provide snacks or lunches children are required to bring meals from home. Director states the center uses an app called HiMama for sign-in/sign-out. LPA observed the app and verified all children present were checked-in today. LPA observed required licensing documents mounted on the wall at the entrance of the facility. Last fire drill was conducted on 5/23/2023. The center currently uses 3 rooms for care and plan on adding a fourth room on the second floor to increase the capacity. A fire clearance was granted by the Santa Barbara City Fire Department on 4/21/2023. Each of the classrooms have age-appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. LPA observed enough restrooms available for children to use. LPA did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children.

The outdoor playground is shaded and has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPA observed the playground has age-appropriate toys and structures available for children to use.

A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. LPA observed 5 out of 5 children's files to be complete and current. LPA observed all staff files to be complete and current. CPR is current with an expiration date of 4/2024. Staff mandated reporter certification are all current. LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements.
