(1) Licensing Program Analyst Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Ashley Ward, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the exterior and interior of the FCCH. The home’s dinning room, kitchen, backyard and hallway restroom are used for child care services, while the home’s living room and upper floors excluded from child care. A child safety gate barricades the stairs leading to the upper floor of the home. At the time of the inspection 8 children were present.

Required forms are predominantly posted on the wall along the entry of the FCCH. The FCCH’s living room has a fireplace which is barricade by a wooden shelving unit and inaccessible to children. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher which was service on 11/16/18. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. Operable smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were observed in the FCCH and the home maintains working telephone services.

Medication is stored on an elevated shelf in a kitchen cabinet. Likewise, sharps are stored on an elevated shelf in a kitchen cabinet. LPA observed cleaning compounds stored in the FCCH's laundry room which is excluded from child care and secure. Toys, furniture and equipment observed in the FCCH's interior were age appropriate and in satisfactory condition. The home was clean, orderly and had ventilation to afford for the children’s comfort and safety. Further, the FCCH was void of hazardous items.

The backyard has a ceramic tiles slab and grass lawns. The yard is enclosed by wood and brick fencing which is in satisfactory condition. Toys and play equipment observed in backyard are age appropriate and satisfactory. No bodies of water were observed on site.
